A dedication to keeping the city safe
The city has 40 sworn officers; there are
10 officers in South Jacksonville, the neighboring village of about 3,500; and 15 deputies in the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, which is based in downtown Jacksonville.
Illinois College and MacMurray College, and a regional campus of Lincoln Land Community College-Jacksonville has a wide range of arts and cultural offerings often unavailable in towns more than twice its size.
